The seat of the municipality of Vilnius, the capital of the Republic of Lithuania, hosted the exhibition whose opening ceremony was attended by members of parliament, government officials, representatives of the various ethnic communities of Lithuania, and a broad audience.
The Mufti of the Islamic Center of Lithuania underlined in his speech the status of the Sultanate of Oman as a land of tolerance and peaceful coexistence between different religions and civilizations.
According to the President of the parliamentary committee in charge of European affairs, the organization of such events offer the opportunity to bring together the peoples of the two countries, and the representative of the Lithuanian Tatar communities said that the exhibition illustrated the spirit and progressive thinking that help rectify a number of false prejudices glued to Muslims.
The Chairman of the Parliamentary Committee on Legal Affairs considered that this cultural event is a guarantee to enhance the culture of tolerance, interfaith relations and peace in the worldVilnius: 14 to 28 March, 2013
